House Bill 2528 and Senate Bill 6355

The original use of the funds from harvesting timber from the Public Lands was to go into the budget for Public Schools. The original profits from the Washington State Lotto was to go into the funds for Public Schools. Is this Carbon Tax headed for the General Fund Too?

Yes, timber is a crop. Yes, it uses carbon. Yes, it protects the soil, air and the beauty of our state. And if they are not maintained, thinned, harvested and replanted like any other crop, we are rebuilding the fire load in our state to support wildfires again. And again will negate all that these bills are looking to accomplish.

Why do we have to do things for the climate when, if we do things for the right reason we accomplish the climate balance, jobs, resources, and livelihoods on all levels. We stopped doing what was right with forestry because the environmentalist didn’t want our forests crop touched for anything.

It has been all about money, and it still is!
